|Provenance:From the estate of the late Sir Gerald Kaufman collection. Sir Gerald Kaufman (b.1930 - d.2017) one of the longest serving Labour MPs known as 'Father of the House of Commons', first elected MP for the Labour party in 1970. He also chaired the select committee on culture, media and sport from 1992–2005. Kaufman had a lifelong love of film and musicals, publishing in Meet Me in St. Louis the 1994 British Film Institute Film 'Classics Guide' to the 1944 production, as well as his memoir, My Life in the Silver Screen in 1985.
