款识：一九七三年春节，黄胄画。|钤印：黄胄 |羲之爱鹅，认为鹅品性高洁，姿态优雅，观察鹅的舒展运动，可以领略到骨法用笔的精髓。他甚至认为执笔时食指要像鹅头那样昂扬微曲，运笔时则要像鹅掌拨水，方能使精神贯注于笔端。|黄胄笔下牧鹅姑娘所照拂的，就是五只雪白骄傲的大鹅。画作整体丰富而有条不紊，人物刻画准确，线条流畅，让人感受到女主人快乐情绪。白鹅姿态各异，用笔沉稳肯定，黄胄寥寥几笔就表现出它们的傲世性情，周围环境描写轻松自如，撇草力贯笔尖。画面极具浓浓的生活气息，画中的景物，似乎呼之欲出。
