Tarlton, LiverpoolThe arched case surmounted by a single handle over fish-scale sound frets to a plinth base on tall brass reeded feet, inlaid to the lower quadrants with a pair of Sheraton style boxwood panels, the 5.5 inch circular white enamel dial with outer Arabic minutes enclosing the minute band and Roman numerals, signed in the centre with pierced brass hands, the twin gut fusee movement with tall rectangular plates united by four unique (?) baluster pillars and a plain fifth single pillar to the centre, each wheel of five crossings mounted with unusual concave collets, the going train terminating in a pin-wheel escapement, with rack strike on a bell, 38cms (14.5ins) high.
