Description: TWO SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURES OF LOKAPALA. Tang Dynasty. Each standing on top of a recumbent ox, with the head turned to the right, the right hand on his hip and the left raised to hold a weapon, the head surmounted by a phoenix-form hat, dressed in elaborate armour scrolls and animal-mask epaulets surmounted by flames, all glazed in amber, green and cream, 98cm H.
