18th centuryOf slender form supported on a spreading foot, decorated to the bulbous central section with taotie masks separated by raised flanges, raising to a trumpet neck with upright stiff leaves enclosing archaistic scrolls and further taotie masks below lotus scrolls and a band of ruyi-head to the rim, the interior similarly decorated with lotus flower heads borne on scrolling foliage. 29.8cm (11 3/4in) high
